ATC in Jan 2017

We had a really good crowd this month.

Mdm Au, as usual, lead us in a very wonderful session of quilling.


There was such an array of creativity in the Rooster themed ATCs for this evening.

 

One of the ATCs I created was made from egg shells. This was traded with Jessica.

We also spent time talking about the upcoming exhibition in March and also our visit to a nursing home to run an art activity as well as put up our artwork for their enjoyment for a few months. Very exciting.

We will meet again on 9 Feb and the inspirational theme will be Valentine's.

ATC in Dec 2016

We had an explosion of colours creating molas inspired ATCs. Molas is a form of fabric art from Pananma.

The collection of Present theme ATCs was also fantastic. The theme was interpreted in many ways including as gift, being present and present time.

We are also in the thick of our preparation for our exhibition in March next year. It is getting exciting.

The next meeting is on 12 Jan 2017 and the theme is Rooster.

ATC - Oct and Nov 2016

This is a catch-up for the 2 ATC sessions held last month and this month at Bishan Library.

In October, we tried some "magic" painting with this special paper that allows water to appear like ink. It was fun. We also had quite a few lovely cards for the theme of "Window" including one with the Windows logo. 

For November, Mdm Au taught us to quill these lovely hummingbirds. There were also attractive "Something Red" ATCs and our librarian brought out books with covers that have something red too.

We were also mentioned in a town council newsletter.

We have also starting preparing for an exhibition in March 2017 and we hope to bring the ATCs into a senior home or two after the exhibition. Isn't that cool? Look out for more about the ATC Adding Tremendous Cheer exhibition.

ATC - Sep 2016

How about doing some abstract art?

We stretched the idea of "abstract art" a little. After making a drawing, we "de-constructed" by cutting it up and then "re-compose" it.

Look at the intriguing pieces that we were able to create. We also made a link to non-linear narratives in novels.

For the trading of ATCs, we have quite a few to choose from, including those from first-timers. The inspiration theme was "Eye/See".

Quite a few of the regulars were not feeling well for this evening. Hope they all get better real soon.

We also explored a possible exhibition project to work on for the months ahead. More details soon.

ATC - Aug 2016

For the August session, we asked those who have been attending for a while to bring their collection of ATCs that they have collected. It was interesting and nostalgic seeing each other's older artwork. We have also seen how we have grown in our artmaking.

There was also a nice lot of ATCs that were made for exchange for this month. The inspiration theme was "Star".

We had time to say something about what we have brought before we traded.

As for the art-making this month, we tried out found poetry. The librarian has very kindly photocopied a few pages from different books for us to work with.  Look at the fabulous work that we created.

This month, we had a creative time forming Abundance Hens with the guidance of Rita. This is a rather complex origami. And here are some of the ATCs for this month. We meet again on 14 March. Theme: Bling! Bling!

It's the year-end edition of our ATC meeting! Rita taught us how to make origami Christmas trees and we saw some delightful "gift" themed ATCs. Of course some seasonal goodies to top off the evening. Have an ATc (Artful, Terrific and Cheerful) Christmas everyone! We meet again on 10 Jan 2013 and the theme is "Celebrate fun!".

It's always great to meet each other again. This month, we tried rubbing or frottage. Had fun and once again, we can see everyone's creativity.


The next session is on 8 Nov (Thu) and the theme is "Faces".

Parade Ends

This year's ATC on Parade ended on a high note with the international swap taking place.



These are the ATCs from our overseas friends waiting for a home in Singapore.



After an orderly ballot, we are ready to have our local ATCs be shipped overseas too.



We would like to thank the National Library Board for their encouraging support, and for this swap, Rita for co-ordinating it.

We will meet again on 11 Oct, and the theme is "Doors and Windows".

ATC on Parade 2012

This year's ATC on Parade exhibition is just around the corner.

It will happen from 18 Aug to 12 Sep at the Bishan Library.

Join us on 16 Aug as we setup the exhibition from 6.30 to 8.30 pm.

This month, we learnt from Trish and Nic how to use markers and water to create a nice watercolour effect.



We were quite absorbed doing this. And look at the beautiful art we created!



Not forgetting some of the new ATCs for this month.



We meet again on 12 July and the theme is "Under the Sea".

Mmm ... all about M.

There were imaginative ATCs for this month's theme.

 
Including a portrait of yours truly. Can you spot it?



Then when we tried out Eric Carle-inspired art, the creative work we saw was simply amazing.



We will meet again on 14 June and the theme is "It Isn't Easy to be Green".

ATC @ Bishan Library Apr 2012

At this month's ATC session, the right-side of our brains got a little workout as we learn from Nic and Trish. They are certified Drawing on the Right-Side of the Brain instructors and it was fun using frames to draw.



Look at the cool drawings we managed with.



And of course, there were the beautiful "Make It Stick" ATCs.



We meet again on 10 May and the theme is "All about M".
