Getting Pausey

My first attempt in trying out parent-child bonding sessions turned out fairly well, thanks to the help from wonderful people like Patsy and Aunt Maureen. It was wonderful seeing the good time these family had together. I am seriously thinking of doing this again, either just during the school holidays or even on a monthly basis.


I have also been slowly putting together Pausey Crafts through which I sell handcrafted creations. Starting with a modest 3 categories of products, I have created a small corner in the shop and even put up an online catalog. Hope to be able to do shipping so that we can have a full-fledge online shop.

Brick Break

Recently, a friend told me that he very much prefers the simple Lego bricks that allow more space for imaginative play rather than the newer ones that are way too customised. Apparently, there isn't any local shop where you can buy these simple bricks by weight.

Wonder if he would like these edible simple bricks if he can find them in our supermarket. You can shape your snack and make your own combination of flavours. Sounds fun? Not much of nuitritional value though.

If You Were Johnny

This seems like such a strange clip to me. Watch Johnny Depp entertained by these little mini-pirates from Japan. How awkwardly polite he is ... "I will never forget this for as long as I live". :P

This is one part of childhood that I am sure these overly exuberant kids will remember for a long time to come. Didn't some of us grow up playing the Electone too?

Time Travels

The reunion was an event that is special. The last time I set foot into old KKPS was 8 years ago, after leaving school for 20 years, and that was a really brief visit.

This time, we had an extended stay and the net was cast far and wide to get as many as possible, including teachers. Unlike my previous visit, in which it was the physical space of the school that impacted me, this time it was definitely the people.

What a wonderful thing to start off with everyone sharing one memory of our time in the school. Together we re-constructed some of the fondest part of our childhood. Not sure how it is like for others but I am one who has a most faded memory, so I really liked being reminded.

Those good folks that put everything together have done a marvelous thing. Thank you!

Well, I want to put together a mini-show at Pauseability based on our 70's childhood. It would be interesting to see what photos, artifacts and art work will show up.

There are 17 people who have yet to say yes to coming and quite a few of these have actually not been contactable. Hopefully this article in Today will get to some of them before this Saturday.

Too Late Smart

Picked this book from the library "Too Soon Old, Too Late Smart" by Gordon Livingston. The subtitle is "30 True Things -You Need to Know Now". A good read.



What caught my attention initially were the titles to the 30 chapters. Here are some of them:

If the map doesn't agree with the ground, the map is wrong.

The perfect is the enemy of the good.

Life's two most important questions are "Why?" and "Why Not?" The trick is knowing which to ask.

Rolling Good Times

It's next Saturday! Time to meet with folks from my P6 class that I have not seen for a while. Pity I don't seem to have many photographs from then. But here's a wonderful compilation of what everyone else manage to excavate.



In the spirit of this, I am trying to put together a mini-exhibition at Pauseability called "I Love My 70's Childhood". If you are from that era and have stuff to contribute - photos, toys, music, and so on, please let me know. Hope to do this in July.
