Solemates

These handmade tabi shoes (foot bag? 足袋) from Sou Sou sure look cool. Rustic and elegant. The strapping system is intriguing.

There are fun ones too with fabulous fabric designs.

Worn by ninjas in the past and now by construction workers in Japan and also a fashion trend in recent years too.

Small, Gentle, Graceful

In the words of Asa Arnehed, these small, gentle and graceful movements are filled with meaning and so well captured by her artistry. Facinating.

Child's Play

These interesting houses in Japan have been designed to stimulate the senses and force inhabitants to use balance, physical strength and imagination. They have uneven floors, oddly positioned power switches and outlets, a dizzying array of colors, and more.

It is designed based on the philosophy that a home that keeps its inhabitants young and healthy should provide perpetual challenges. Unusual isn't it?

Then again, I can just imagine what a lovely playground this would be for any child. Reminds me of how this kindergarten is designed.

Happy Children's Day!
