Teachers' Day

Happy Teachers' Day
In Singapore, we celebrate Teachers' Day on 1 Sep. Teachers have such significant impacts on all our lives. It is wonderful to be able to show how much we appreciate them and to affirm their hard work.

Thank you and Happy Teachers' Day!

Opei Leaves

Fried Hokkien Mee is one of my favourite. Besides the rich taste, it also reminds me of those special suppers Mum would buy as a treat once in a while.

In the good old days, Fried Hokkien Mee is packed in fragrant opei leaves (soft palm bark). Some hawkers today would still line their plates with these leaves and charge extra for that touch of nostalgia

It was so amusing to see how this very eco-friendly practice has been updated by the people at VerTerra.

These opei dinnerware made from fallen palm leaves and water sure look great, don't they?

Would it go well with Fried Hokkien Mee I wonder?

Eggs and Sausage

How time flies! Just realised that it is almost a week since my last post.

What do you usually have for breakfast? Bread, a cup of milo and sometimes a bowl of cereal, that's mine.

This is not exactly about breakfast, but the title reminded me of that. It is a beautiful show of typography.

And typography is one of the possible avenue to explore for the next A*Live's theme: A Way with Word.

Come join us for some ATC pun, I mean fun on 10 Sep at Bishan Library.
