IF - Memories
Like tree rings, perhaps memories mark the passing of the years.
For this week's Illustration Friday's topic - Memories.

KBCC August Edition
What are these? They were found outside Pauseability today and gained quite a few curious stares. Resemble those trays of herbs found outside Chinese medical halls don't they?
Those were paper pulp drying. All part of this month's KBCC at which we made paper and our own journals. It was loads of fun.
Thanks Ee Wei!

IF - Routine
Made 2 drawings for this week's Illustration Friday's topic - Routine.
This is such a routine, we could do it with our eyes closed.
Despite the constant practice, her nightmare was forgetting the routine when everyone's looking.
I prefer the toothbrushing one though. Which do you like better?

Sunflower Surprise
It was wonderful to be given a lovely bunch of sunflowers recently.
Here are a few nice sunflower clips. Watch how sunflowers grow and glow in the sun.
And enjoying seeing this amazing painting come alive.
Update 23 Aug 11 pm:
Someone commented that I should draw those sunflowers and so I did, but drew only one.

AoP 09 - Close to You
ATC on Parade has come to a close. When the idea was first mooted, we did not imagine that the participation would be as wonderful and warm. Everyone brought out their creative best and we had a smart and successful parade!
The cards from the Great Singapore Swap has been distributed and will be sent out soon. It has been especially heartwarming that our friends from overseas has each taken up the challenge of finding out more about our tiny island nation in order to create their beautiful ATCs.
Hopefully, with this effort, we will see more people try out ATC.
And at our next live trade session in September, we have decided to try a theme-trade on top of the usual trading. The theme will be "9ine". Crank up the creative juices, enjoy your artful expression and make a date to join us on 11 Sep.

It is as fascinating as it might be scary what they can do with technology.
And if you want to create your own portrait Manga style, try Face Your Manga. Fun and easy.
Here's how I wish I look. Haha!

Vote my Woot
My 2nd attempt at a Shirt.Woot derby. Theme for these few days: Black and White.
Their daily special T-shirt go for only US$10! Too bad they don't ship to Singapore and so I can't purchase and thus I can't vote either. But if you can vote, please kindly give me some support.

AoP 06 - The More We Get Together
At our simple and informal ATC on Parade opening evening, all of us had a great time catching up, laughing and picking up inspirations over chips, dips, brownies and curry puffs.
Night around the table at Pauseability. (Oops ... pardon the lame pun.)

AoP 05 - Commencing
At last, ATC on Parade starts! We were listed in the newspaper today.
And our first visitors was a team of student reporters from Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
The Singapore swap is getting more interesting and cards from Australia and Italy are our newest additions.
Make a quality Singapore theme card, drop it off at Pauseability before the end of the exhibition and you could be the proud owner of one of these fab cards.

As a child, we use to sing a rhyme that goes "A-B-C, kiam chye char loti." The second half, in Hokkien, and is almost senseless as it says "to stir-fry (char) bread (loti) with salted vegetable (kiam chye)". I do wonder who invented this little ditty, and whether there were other variations.

AoP 04 - Countingdown
Just a day to go and everyone was bringing in their artist trading cards. Wonderful creations and collections for the parade.
It was fun selecting the cards, laying them out and putting on the final touches.
Until tonight, none of us knew exactly how it would all look like together. It is quite a delight by the end of the evening just to see how all the pieces fit and the burst of colours and creativity before us. Here's a glimpse of a part of it.
If you are nearby, do delight us with your presence at ATC on Parade from 7 to 18 August at Pauseability.

See To Believe?
This painting was done by a man born without eyes. Is that possible? Enjoy Esref Armagan's work here.

Music to the Eye
For someone like me who cannot play any music, this visual representation of Bach is simply fascinating. Love that little portion where the notes move very quickly up and down in a squiggle.

AoP 03 - Getting Ready
Just a few more days to go before the ATC on Parade exhibition starts on 7 August.
This is how our ATCs will be displayed on boards and then mounted on walls.
A little 3D promo piece that was made to advertise the event to those who pass by Pauseability.
Another beautiful set of Singapore-theme cards that came in from Scotland for the swap to be hosted during the exhibition.
The parade is forming up nicely. Feel the excitement in the air!
