Hatching a Logo

It was fun designing of a logo for my Rhyming Tern site.

When most people hear "A Rhyming Tern", some thought they heard "a Remington" - presumably thinking of a Remingtons Typwriter and not the gun.

Putting the tern and the typewriter together, it looks a little like the tern was trying to hatch an egg. And perhaps that is what the artful creative life is like sometimes - a sitting and waiting. Doing little, yet doing what is so needful.

So, when it came to the logo's frame, I decided to make it in the shape of an egg. It also looks a little like the outline of an island. Imagine the waves lapping up on every side.

ATC on Parade 2010 Talk 02

As part of the ATC on Parade exhibition currently at Ang Mo Kio Library, we held our 2nd talk yesterday. It was wonderful to be able to showcase some of our collection to those who came.

ATC on Parade 2010 at AMK Library

The Parade has moved forward. It is now at Level 2 of Ang Mo Kio Public Library. It sure is nice to have 2 exhibition location as we celebrate the 3rd annual ATC on Parade. The show will be there till 19 Aug.

Do consider coming by when some of us share our ATC collections at AMK Library Level 1 at 3 pm on Sunday 15 Aug.

A*Live Aug 2010

Our regular monthly meet today which also happens to a part of this year's ATC on Parade exhibition.

We created ATCs with little squiggles in a round-robin fashion. Look at the flock of birds we created.

Next month, we meet on 9 Sep and the theme is "birds of a feather".

On 15 Aug Sunday, there will be a sharing of our ATC Collections at the Ang Mo Kio Library at 3 pm. Do join us if you can.

ATC on Parade 2010 Talk 01

We had a cosy turnout for our talk on 7 Aug where 4 of us showcased our ATC collections. And we each have an amazing collection of ATCs from all over the world. The diversity of theme, mediums and stories that go with each set of cards made it a most engaging hour spent together.

ATC on Parade 2010 Setup

It was a wonderful evening seeing everyone's wonderful ATCs come together this evening. With all chipping in, the ATC on Parade exhibition was up just before the library's closing time.

What a feeling of accomplishment when we stepped back and enjoyed all we see before us.

We hope many will enjoy this exhibition.

5 to 12 Aug at Bishan Library, 13 to 19 Aug at Ang Mo Kio Library.

Ready for Take-off

After some weeks of preparation, this new flight of fancy of mine is ready to meet the world: A Rhyming Tern - my small eShop of artful books, kits and games.

It has been as much fun as it has been exhausting scouting for these wonderful products abd learning all about shipping them in. Starting small but hoping these goodies have the same appeal to many out there.
