Vintage Goodness

It's amazing that after leaving primary school for almost three decades, there's a bunch of friends who are still in touch with each other very regularly. As we all approach or reach our big four-O this year, they have decided to attempt the feat of gathering the entire class together. Through the existing network of those already in contact, we hope to get all 44 of us. If six-degree separation is true, then we should be able to do this by 9 June 2007.

One of us has put together a fantastic little clip. Wooo ... what memories! Kim Keat Primary School, yes, all the boys had crew-cuts.

Glad that the building is still standing. I do miss the crescent shaped leaves from the trees next to the tuckshop greeting us the moment we step into the school. But what I remember most was the acrid smell of disinfectant at the dentist on the ground floor lobby. Nice video though I had hair when I got to Primary 5 cause they reversed the crew cut rule. So guess you guys had to look like monks all through your KKPS days. Kekekek!

We are searching for our Chinese teacher Zheng lao shi. If any of you have his contact, can email me at yangtan564@yahoo.com.sg? Thx

I was just thinking of my beloved Kim Keat Primary School and thought I'd checkout the website. Stubmled upon this and just wanted to relive the memories. Yes, I still remember our school song and every morning when we reached school, Mrs Ong (our principle) will play the courtesy song, the road saftey song over the PA. Really missed those days. I was from Pri 6D in 1979.

If my memory doesn't fail me, the Indian teacher with the artificial leg is Mr Rajendran.

Isn't it so wonderful that the net is helping many of us to connect through our collective memories?

Kathryn, we were from the same batch. Yes, do remember Mrs Ong and Mr Rajendran (not too sure if that is his name but I know who he is). Cool!

Wow! Can't believe this! We might even know each other since we are from the same batch. Which class were you from? Anyone interested in a gathering?

My class was 6B. Some of classmates do meet regularly though I don't always seem to be able to make it.

If you have been promoted from 4B to 5B and then to 6B, then we'd probably know each other as I was from 4B and was 'demoted' to 5D. Is Fiona Ng Sook Peng (6B) one of those that you keep in touch with? We happened to be in the same Pre-U centre and after we graduated, we were still keeping in touch - sending festive greetings, but have not heard from her for a few years now. Wonder if she is still the same - cute and bubbly!

Thanks guys for rekindling my reminiscences of good old days in KKPS. Ya, we had crew cut, which my relatives liked to call me "durian", but helped my mom saved quite a lot of shampoo.

I was from Pr 6A in 1979. You know, the A and C were those different lads from the rest, which are now a group of extinct creatures in our educational system.

Hmmm, isn't it wonderful to hear from someone from the A class! Ya, Choon Boon was right that the A and C class students then were somehow different from the rest. I cannot really recall, but was it because students from A and C class were Chinese ed? I remember playing with schoolmates from B, D and E class but not so much from the A and D class.

Kathryn, you are right. A and C were Chinese ed who seldom mingled with English ed, but I did play with a few from B class which I now can't really recall who were they.
